GRADES 7-8 - Mondays - 5:30-6:30pm

Writing is an important skill that is key to expressing ourselves to the people around us. This course is ideal for students who want to effectively organize their writing while conducting in-depth research across all curriculum areas including: Social Studies, Science and Literature.  Embedded in the Ontario Curriculum, the course will prepare students for high school and beyond. Students will become confident in choosing relevant sites and using the correct text-type frameworks to best compose their work.

We will explore: 

-note-taking

-expanding on notes

-properly citing sources

-choosing sources judiciously

-avoiding plagiarism

Students will be encouraged to choose their own topics of interest and explore indepth to practice the concepts learned in lessons. All coursework is practical and relevant to middle school themes and expectations.
